Context

A group of wide-eyed college kids had the opportunity to make an album in the paradise of Kauai, Hawaii.

What I Did

Full album production. Budgeting, scheduling, part development, musician rehearsals, audio editing, photography, cd production.

Outcome

Released to physical. This was an early-career project for all of us. Madi has gone on to have an incredible career, and continues to write music that touches me to my core. Please check out her whole catalog. I’m thankful to have been even a tiny part of her musical career.

Lessons Learned

Don’t let timeline demands and business demands shape the creative output.

"Skin and Bone is a sparkling debut, capturing a rootsy side of Diaz as singer-songwriter and drawing comparisons to the work of artists like Patty Griffin."

— Songwriters Hall of Fame

"It was my first recording experience (for myself)... that was definitely the first time I had a group of players sitting down and helping me figure out how I wanted to arrange myself."

— Madi Diaz, UCLA Daily Bruin
