Who we are
This site is operated by Frank Charlton, doing business as Fieldwork PNW, based in Poulsbo, Washington.
What data we collect
When you browse
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymized page views, device type, and general location (country/region). No personally identifiable information is stored in analytics.
When you purchase
If you make a purchase through our store, your order is processed through Square. We receive your name, email, shipping address, and order details. We do not store credit card numbers — payment is handled entirely by Square’s secure checkout.
When you subscribe
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored in our own database hosted on Cloudflare. Confirmation and campaign emails are delivered through Resend. We may also create a customer profile in Square to associate your subscription with any future purchases.
When you contact us
If you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to us via Web3Forms. We only use this information to respond to your inquiry.
How we use your data
- To fulfill orders — shipping prints, sending confirmation emails
- To send newsletters — only if you opted in, and you can unsubscribe anytime
- To improve the site — understanding which pages are useful, fixing issues
- To respond to inquiries — replying to contact form messages
Do Not Sell or Share
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We never have and never will.

Cookies
This site uses minimal cookies:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — usage data, disabled when you opt out
- Session storage — your shopping cart contents (cleared when you close the browser)
- Local storage — theme preference (light/dark), privacy choice, and (when you have identified yourself via checkout, newsletter, or contact form) a hashed contact key so later visits on the same browser can be linked in analytics. We never store your email in local storage — only a one-way hash.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though your cart won’t persist between page loads.
your privacy choices
You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time using the your privacy choices link in the footer of every page. Analytics loads by default on production hosts unless you opt out or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — this is an opt-out model, not a consent wall. When you opt out:
- Google Analytics will not load on any page
- No analytics cookies will be set
- No browsing data will be sent to Google
- Any stored hashed contact key and related analytics profile data are removed from this browser
- Your opt-out preference is saved in your browser and persists across visits
Global Privacy Control
This site honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, analytics tracking is automatically disabled — no action needed on your part. Most modern browsers support GPC in their privacy settings.
Your rights
You can:
- Opt out of analytics using the ‘your privacy choices’ link in the footer of every page
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time via the link in any email
- Request deletion of your data by emailing fieldworkpnw@gmail.com
We will respond to all requests within 15 business days.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
